2010 Awards

As in previous years, the 2010 lunch was held at Prestonfield House Hotel on Friday 14 May.  We were delighted that even in the difficult economic climate, over 360 people attended the event and raised £54,000 for our chosen charities.  A huge thank you to you all for your support and contributions, as this figure exceeded that of last year.  A total of 15 charities will benefit from the money raised this year. 

 The winners, who were announced in the presence of HRH the Princess Royal are as follows:-

 

 

Rupert Soames of Aggreko plc collected the Main award.  Rupert joined the Board in 2003 as Chief Executive and has overseen the company increase revenues to approximately £1.0bn in 2009.  Aggreko now operates from over 144 locations and serves customers in approximately 100 countries. 

 

 

 

Malcolm Howat of Howco Group collected the International Award having founded the company in 1982 and successfully established the company as a global supplier to the oilfield services sector.  As a result, revenues have increased over the last five years from £135m to an impressive £258m.

 

 

 

 

Peter Vardy, Chief Executive of Peter Vardy Ltd collected the Young Achiever award.  Peter founded the company in 2006 and has increased turnover to £139m in 2009.  The company pledges 10% of its annual profits to support organisations through its own charitable foundation.
