Awards SBAAT 2011

The 2011 SBAAT awards were held on 13 May at Prestonfield House. The event was a great success with over 360 people attending. The winners of the three award categories are as follows:

 

 

Allister Langlands of John Wood Group PLC collected the Main award. Allister joined Wood Group in 1991 and was appointed Chief Executive in January 2007. During his time at Wood Group, Allister has been a key member of the senior management team which has led the Group’s growth from less than US$200 million revenue in 1990 to over US$5 billion revenue in 2010. An outstanding achievement. 

 

 

 

The International award was collected by Colin Robertson of Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL), Britain’s biggest bus and coach manufacturer. The company has enjoyed explosive growth since Colin took over the helm in May 2007 increasing turnover by almost 120% to circa £270m. ADL has opened up a series of new markets in the USA, Canada and mainland Europe and is establishing partnerships in California, Hong Kong, China and New Zealand as part of its growth strategy. 

 

 

 

 

Michael Welch of Blackcircles.com was award the Young Achiever award. Mike founded the leading UK tyre retailer at the age of 23. As Managing Director, Mike has transformed the UK motor industry from the company’s headquarters in the Scottish Borders. In December 2010 Mike launched the biggest motoring venture in the UK of the past ten years, Tesco-tyres.co.”
